Fundraising

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has raised funds on our behalf. 

Our thanks to everyone who came along to our first fundraiser which was a Quiz Night held at the Albany Public House in Albany Park in Bexley in Kent on the 12th October 2003. Our special thanks go to Kevin and Jackie for donating the room free of charge. This event actually got the Charity started!

Thanks to Daniel Sisson for completing the scary task of perfoming a parachute jump on our behalf. July 2003.

On 11th february 2006. We held our first Valentine's Dance. ASLEF the Train Drivers Union very kindley donated free of charge, their beautiful Ballroom for the event. Although the evening didn't go without the odd hiccup. We would like to take this opportunetly to say a big thank you to all the people who attended the Dance. 

New Years Eve 2007/08 - A really big thank you to Joanne Rumsby and Suzy Tarry of Canvey Island Essex who arranged a fabulous New Years Eve disco. Everyone had a fabulous time and they also arranged a raffle which raised us even more money. The girls are planning another New Year’s Eve disco to see in 2010. Thank you Girls.

January 2008:- Our thanks go to the pupils and staff of English Martyrs School, St. Mark Street, London E1 for their kind donation of £200.  This was raised by the pupils making and selling their own cookbooks and by the staff who donated the money they would have spent on Christmas cards.


 

Many thanks to everyone who takes part in the Annual Fun Run. It started off with just two people in September 2003 but this still managed to raise us £619.00.

In september 2004 the number of people participating in the Flora Fun Run grew to at least nineteen people.The Fun Run raised 24 Weeks Plus a grand total of £2,009.50. Thank you all very much for your time and legwork!!!!

                       

Last years Fun Run was run by 30 women supporting 24 Weeks Plus.  As you can see from the photo below, we pulled a very heavy incubator along the 5k route. It took us just under 2 hours to complete the course. Our arms were hurting us more than we would have thought possible but it was well worth the publicity and the money that was raised, a staggering £3141.00 which will go towards keeping us going for another year. 

                         

This year’s Hydro Active Women’s Challenge was fantastic. As you may be able to see from the photo below,(yet to be installed), we are getting more and more of you wonderful ladies, running, walking and staggering (or dragging an incubator), around the scenic 5K course in London’s Hyde Park, all in the good name of Charity.

Thank you to all those that took part in this year's Hydro Active Womens Challenge, which was held on Sunday 16th September 2007. Ladies please keep up the good work, by joining us again next year and bringing loads of your girlfriends along with you.
